Shawna Mitchell
Shawna joined Countryside Veterinary Clinic May of 2002 and is our Lead Veterinary Technician. She grew up in central Iowa where she went to Des Moines Area Community College and completed a one-year program in Veterinary Technology.
Shawna and her husband, Kevin, have two daughters: Makayla (10) and Taylor(7). Her pets include:
- Morgan - 8 year old Boxer that loves "SQUIRREL!"
- Zoey - 7 year old Chihuahua - has selective hearing
- Reese - 3 year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua Mix - has selective hearing
- Lumpy Frodo - 6 year old Domestic Longhaired cat that does his own thing and hates the dogs
- Velvetine (Velvet) - 7 month old Mini-Rex Rabbit - this year's Christmas gift to the girls!
- 2 Goldfish - Gloria and Killer
When Shawna is not spending time with her children and family, she enjoys miniature golf, traveling, and doing things outdoors. She loves coffee and frappe's and may have a "small" purse addiction. Her favorite sports team is the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Janet Krueger, LVT
Janet is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been with Countryside Veterinary Clinic since September of 1989. She enjoys helping and caring for pets and their owners.
Janet is married to Duke, a school teacher, and they have two children, Shannon and Luke. They live on a hobby farm raising many different animals. Additionally they have:
- Boomer - a retriever mix that loves to hunt pheasants and geese and go be wherever the family is.
- 2 cats - Pipper and Woody - that love catnip as their favorite treat.
When Janet's not busy supporting her children in high school sports and other activities, she enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, hunting grouse, bow hunting and camping.
Janet's favorite teams are any that her children and their friends are playing on. Of course - she loves the Green Bay Packers!
Mindi Koethe, CVT
Mindi has been employed at Countryside Veterinary Clinic as a Certified Veterinary Technician since March of 1999. She graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She is in charge of the inventory at the clinic (not a small task at all!).
Mindi and her husband Jim have 2 sons: 5 year old Joshua and 3 year old Kyle. Mindi's family shares their home with:
- Molly - 13 year old Pomeranian that is losing her mind.
- Lady - a Boston Terrier mix puppy that loves to play fetch and annoy the cats.
- Jozee - a Domestic Shorthair cat with poydactle feet (extra toes). She used to be rather aloof with people now, but now is learning they are nice and can pet her!
- Little Man - a Domestic Shorthair cat. He is "World's Best Cat!" He is excellent with Mindi's small children and tolerant of anything they do to him.
Mindi enjoys camping, cooking, gardening, snowmobiling, hiking, and spending as much with her family as she can! Mindi likes football and cheers on the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.
Beth Renstrom, CVT
Beth joined the Countryside staff in April of 2005. She graduated from Argosy University in October of 2002 and is a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Beth shares her home with:
- Kona - a 10 year old Labrador Retriever that would retrieve until he died.
- Rowen - an 8 year old Irish Wolfhound that loves to lick people's faces while having a back scratch.
- Ophelia - a 6 year old Miniature Schnauzer that loves agility and barking.
- Gilbert - a 5 year old Miniature Schnauzer that is nicknamed "Tigger" because he bounces on his back legs.
- Mara - a 4 year old Irish Wolfhound who is the sweetest, most adorable girl in the world. She likes to sleep on Beth's bed and race around at top speed. She also loves lure coursing.
- Rocket - a 12 year old Long-haired Whippet - who is totally blind but very sweet. He loves to squeak toys and get petted when he's not napping.
- Jeressa - a 4 year old Irish Wolfhound that can be found either bossing the other dogs around or napping on the bed, on her back with her legs in the air.
- Naraya - a 3 year old Irish Wolfhound that loves squeaky toys (and destroying them), going on walks, stealing and eating kleenix, and a long snuggle every evening with her Mom.
- Eclipse - a 7 year old Irish Wolfhound who loves canine massage, walks, and lure coursing when she is not napping.
- Jolie - a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound that loves going on walks (for about 5 minutes) then loves sleeping the rest of the day away. She can often be found lying in Beth's lap.
- Spock Fishe' - a midnight blue short tail Betta Fish.
Beth avidly participates in lure coursing with her Irish Wolfhounds and shows them occasionally. She loves to participate in fun/educational activities with her Irish Wolfhounds such as the St. Patrick's Day parades in the cities and the St. Paul Irish Fair. Beth visits the Hudson Hospital with Jeressa who is a Therapy Dog International Certified Therapy Dog.. She is taking agility classes with Ophelia and is just starting to compete with her. In her spare time, Beth also enjoys working on her own website (http://www.tresmorn.com - made using photos or her dogs) and the website of the local Northstar Irish Wolfhound Club. She also enjoys doing anything crafty, writing, reading, walking with her dogs and taking photographs of them.
Keri Johnson, CVT
Keri started at Countryside in October of 2007. She graduated from Globe College and is a Certfied Veterinary Technician
Keri is a huge cat lover, and her family includes 3 cats:
- Pumpkin -a 6 year old orange Domestic Longhair. He is Keri's nice kitty that spends most of his time sleeping and currently is living with Keri's parents. Keri's dad became too attached to him and wouldn't ler her take him with her when she moved out.
- Smokey - a 4 year old gray Domestic Longhair. Smokey is her special kitty. He is really a good cat as long as you don't touch him but he does take some pretty good picutres and loves going for walks in his stroller!
- Simba - her most recent addition and what can she say? He's a trouble maker but he is just so cute! He really knows how to make her laugh and he is her lap buddy.
Keri loves to scrapbook - especially for her kitties - cooking, baking, putting puzzles together, being outdoors (summer only - she's a freeze baby!) and bowling. Look out - she's got her own ball and she's not afraid to use it!
Keri's favorite teams are the Minnesota Twins for baseball and the Green Bay Packers for football. Her family has season tickets to the Twins so she sees alot of games and she is a huge fan of Joe Mauer in particular!
