Mary Bernd
Mary has been working with the Countryside Veterinary Clinic as a Receptionist since April of 1988. Both Mary and her husband Mike were born and raised in New Richmond. Mary is the lead Receptionist for the clinic.
Mary & Mike live just outside of New Richmond. They have one grown son, Jim and his wife Jen. Mike and Mary have 2 Cairn Terriers:
- Darby - a very independent Cairn Terrier that "lives to eat." He does not understand CVC's "cup" rule. He is hungry all the time and doesn't believe in limiting his food by measuring it - contrary to Dr. Smith's wishes!
- Quinn - hasn't met a stuffed toy from CVC that he hasn't immediately fallen in love with and he happily claims Darby's, also!
In her free time, Mary enjoys camping, reading, and watching football. She is an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and the Wisconsin Badgers.
Sue Ballard
Sue joined Countryside Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2006 as a part-time receptionist and is currently our Human Resource Advocate. She also assists Lynn with various functions that free Lynn up to do her job!
Sue is married to Mike and they have 2 grown children - son Michael (wife Jenny) and daughter DeAnn (husband Peter) and grandchildren - Mallory, Sophie, Jacqueline & Madeline.
Sue has a dog named Jack - a black Lab - he loves to hunt and is a great family dog.
In her spare time, Sue gardens and travels.
Sheila Derosier
Sheila is joined the Receptionist team at Countryside in December 2009.
Sheila lives on the family farm in Somerset with her brother, Chris, and nephew, Josh. Her Cocker Spaniel, Sam, rounds out the household with his silly antics. He loves squeaky toys, but unfortunately the first thing he does with them is pull out the stuffing and leave little piles of fluff all over the place. HIs favorite activity is going on long walks.
Sheila went to Italy last fall with a good friend - took some cooking classes and saw fantastic sites.
Sheila's hobbies include photography, cooking, and reading.
Lindy Kjeseth
Lindy joined our Receptionish team at Countryside in April 2010. Lindy and her husband, Michael, have 2 children - Jason and Kellie. They have a hobby farm in the Deer Park area with several animals:
- Emma - a very busy English Springer Spaniel who is a house pet
- Dannie - a cute little black and white Shih Tzu puppy who is a dust mop
- Daisy - a Domestic Medium hair cat that is an excellent mouser
- Rose - a very lazy Domestic Medium hair
- Rex - a Percheron horse that drives and they ride
- Raven - a Percheron horse that drives and they ride
- Pal - a Quarterhorse that they ride and came from out west off a big ranch
- Molly - a Quarterhorse they ride
- Jagger - a Quarterhorse they ride (fun/gaming) and is used for 4H competition
Lindy's hobbies include: riding horse, crocheting, fishing and camping, taking care of all of their pets, spending time with family and doing activities. Lindy loves to DANCE!
Lindy and her family enoy camping, fishing on the Great Lakes, ice fishing, horseback riding, sleigh riding, hunting (Lindy bow hunts), snowshoeing, hobby farming crops. In any spare time left, Lindy crochets and grooms her animals. And - she loves the Green Bay Packers!

Cathi Rey
Cathi joined our Countryside team just a few months ago and she's a great fit!
Cathi shares her home with her husband, Ben and their daughter, McKayla. They have several pets:
- Jezzybelle - a domestic shorthaired kitty who will soon be 17 years old! They adopted her from the Hennepin County Humane Society as a feral kitten
- Patches - a domestic longhaired kitty who is7 years old and came to them from a farm
- Crickett - a minature dachshund - 20 months old and cute as a button!
- Tucker - the newest member of the household - 5 months old and best buddies with Crickett. They are inseparable!
Cathi has several hobbies - knitting and crocheting, reading, scrapbooking, swimming, camping, hiking, doing counted cross stitch and loves spending time with family and friends.
Her favorite sports teams are the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Lynx.
