Our Services
Birds, Reptiles, Rabbits & Small Mammals
Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics.
Blood Transfusion
In case of emergency, we have immediate access to a supply of blood for cats and dogs. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.
Boarding
While you are away, your pet can visit our clean, air conditioned and heated boarding facilities. We offer large indoor runs and an outdoor excersise area. You can rest easy knowing your pet is being pampered by our professional staff. Your pet can be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours. Saturday and Sunday evening pickup is available from 5:15-6 pm for your convenience.
Dental Care
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensivity.
We have a dental x-ray machine that can be used to evaluate any diseased teeth, and any extractions are done with local nerve blocks to make the procedure as pain-free as possible.
Emergency and Critical Care
Emergency services are available for your pet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please call (715) 246-2619.

Lasers
Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Our laser can replace scalpels in many procedures such as tumor/wart/cyst removal, spay, neuter, cystotomy, and cat declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain, bleeding, and swelling, because the laser cauterizes the blood vessels and seals the nerve endings. Laser surgery can provide less post-operative discomfort and reduce the risk of infection.
Microchipping
Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery.
Nutritional Counseling
Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. We carry Hill's Science Diet Prescription Foods along with a complete line of non-prescription foods. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.
Pain Management
Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do such as recovering from surgery, injury, and arthritis pain. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.
Radiology
Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscles and bones, heart and lungs, stomach and intestinal tract, and reproductive and urinary systems. We also offer PennHip and OFA x-rays for pre-breeding screens or for hip/elbow dysplasia. X-rays are a very good diagnostic tool.
Surgery
We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. The day of surgery all patients are given complete physical exam by a veterinarian. Blood tests are highly recommended for all surgeries but are required for pets over the age of 5 years. This helps us carefully screen and taylor an anesthetic protocol specifically for to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include:
- Highly-trained veterinary staff to offer the most up-to-date procedures
- Fully-trained technical staff
- Heated surgery table/Bair Hugger for greater comfort
- Advanced sterilization techniques
- Physical monitoring during surgery of all vitals
- Blood pressure, ECG, and oxygen saturation monitors
- Intensive after surgery care and full blood testing
- Laser surgery
Ultrasound
This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
Videoscopic Diagnostic Examinations
The Video Vetscope is a tiny color digital camera connected to a probe which can be used to help your veterinarian better visualize areas of concern. The camera may be used to view and diagnose problems in the:
- Ears
- Nasal cavity
- Rectum
- Genital area
- Urinary tract
- Assist with surgical biopsies
Colored photographs are readily available so that your pets' condition can be visually documented for easy follow-up or for referrral to a specialist.
